Valley Precision Hosts Industrial Roundtable for Chamber of Commerce

On 05 January, 2016 By Dan Drumheller

On November 11th 2015, Valley Precision hosted the Augusta County Chamber of Commerce’s Industrial Roundtable event.   This is a monthly event that allows local business and education representatives to visit local companies and see their operations.  The meeting was a great networking opportunity, and the primary focus of the discussion was discussing: “The Benefits of Manufacturing to the Economy and Tackling the Challenges of Developing a Skilled Workforce”.

We had a guest speaker from Norfolk and also had a discussion about Valley Precision by Dan Drumheller (one of the two owners).

The guest speaker was Bruce Sobczak, who is the Director of Workforce Development for CCAM- Commonwealth Center For Advanced Manufacturing

Here is a link to their website.

Bruce had an inspirational story to tell about his involvement with workforce training of military employees transitioning into the field of manufacturing.  Very impressive!

Also, Watler Carter gave a tour of the facility to nearly all of the attendees.  It was an informative tour, and was a good opportunity to display our manufacturing capabilities.

In the image below, Walter Carter shows the press brake area where sheet metal forming and fabricating is done.
